Hello everyone,

I'm sad to the say that the JABB downloadable playlists will be taking a hiatus.  Whether I'll do some in the future, I don't know.  I do know that the hours required to build one just don't work with my full-time work schedule.  So...  I told my concerns to the JABB YG and Yvette suggested that in lieu of a playlist, I could let members recommend CDs they love.  I liked the idea not only because it would be less of a time commitment for me but also because it seemed more group-oriented.  Yvette has submitted the first CD recommendation.  This also happens to be a CD I own and I enjoy it very much.  I hope you do, too!

If you would like to submit your own CD recommendation, please see the information below Yvette's words.

Thanks and God bless!

A CD Recommendation from Yvette

1.  Performer name:  Chris de Burgh

2.  CD Title:  The Storyman

3.  Genre(s): Pop, but borders on the English version of the French chansons (that is, songs that actually tell stories).

4.  Your own words on why you're recommending this CD.  Perhaps a listing of your favorite tracks or a few words about why a song means so much to you.    Besides Chris de Burgh being my favorite recording artist, there is something in this CD that really touches various aspects of my life.  The fact that most of the songs do touch on the overall essence of the human story, through what I call musical stories; the words and meanings really have their way of going straight into the heart of a person and touching them deep down inside.  The different songs / stories touch different people in different ways, 'Leningrad' touched one of my friends, 'My Father's Eyes' touched another of my friends (who is a father himself), and this song brought tears to his eyes.  'Grace of A Dancer', hit on the profoundness of love reaching beyond all things tangible and giving us a sense of courage and strength to overcome.  'Spirit', reminded me of various episodes of TBAA where someone who is dying says to his/her family  'don't mourn me after I am no longer physically present, because I have gone Home'.  The song that touched me in the most profound way was 'The Mirror of the Soul'.  This song tells the story of a group of monks who have found a diamond that is called the Mirror of the Soul and without knowing that love is what lights this gem, they create a new religion that 'centers' itself on this one object.  In the end of the song, my absolute favorite line of all emerges:  'Because a power greater from the world's Creator gave us love to light the Mirror of the Soul.'  Chris de Burgh's songwriting shines through, and although he may be known for 'Lady in Red', he should really be known for this CD, because it is truly a shining example of what inspiration can do.

Namasté,

Yvette

Thanks Yvette!
If anyone else would like to recommend a CD please email the following form (completed) to me.  All I ask is that the featured CDs/songs not have explicit material.  If the song has a swear word but is otherwise a great song, please just let us know about that so we don't get any younger members in trouble.

1.  Performer name

2.  Performer's web site if available

3.  CD Title

4.  Genre(s)

5.  Your own words on why you're recommending this CD.  Perhaps a listing of your favorite tracks or a few words about why a song means so much to you.

Also, if you'd prefer, you could build a mixed play list that I could link to several CDs.  If you do that, a few brief words about each song would be good.

Just fill that out and email it back to me (Jenni) at the address shown here.  Thanks!
