Jenni's JABB 202 Playlist

This newsletter doesn't really lend itself to a theme.  But I'm going to the Kansas City Ren Faire so I was listening to that sorta music to get me in the mood.  And now you can, too!

1.  "Buttercup's Lament" ~ Marc Gunn
I may have used this song on a playlist before.  Can't remember.  But I really like it, especially since I've seen it performed live at the Kansas City Ren Faire.
2.  "Johnny Jump Up" ~ BOWI
Have heard this lil number at many a Faire.  Apparently one should never drink Johnny Jump Up.  It will make the AODs far too busy!  ;-)
3.  "Loch Lomond" ~ Carl Peterson
A Scottish song I've heard a lot.  Sad but pretty.
4.  "Siuil a Ruin" ~ Celtic Shores
Another sad one but hauntingly beautiful.  Apparently it's a woman singing about her lover enlisting in the army.  Specificially the French Army in the latter 1600s according to the Bards here.  The title translates to "Go, My Love."
5.  "Red is the Rose" ~ Syren
If you choose to think of a particular person when they come to the lyrics "The moon shone its rays on your locks of golden hair," then you won't be the only one.  Sigh...  Sorry that these are nearly all pretty sappy/sad!
6.  "The Parting Glass" ~ Gairin
One of my very favorite songs.  I first heard a version of it in the film "Waking Ned Devine" and decided it totally had to be played at my funeral.  Except I'd use a version sung by a female for that particular occasion.  And I also intend to play various versions of it several times beforehand!

And that's it.  "Good night and joy be to you all", as the song says!
